Compliance Day 2018

Am 15. Mai 2018 fand an der Universität Liechtenstein, Vaduz der Compliance Day 2018 statt. Die diesjährige Vortragsreihe sowie die daran anschliessende Podiumsdiskussion befasste sich einerseits mit dem Bereich des Compliance Officers, seiner Position und Haftung, andererseits auch mit der Thematik zur Zertifizierung von Compliance-Management-Systemen.

Einen wesentlichen Bestandteil der Vortragsreihe bildete auch der Fragenkomplex um Digitalisierung sowie neue Technologien wie Big-Data-Analysen und insbesondere Blockchain. Cyberrisiken, operationelle IT-Risiken und Digital Compliance für Unternehmen gewinnen rechtlich und im Hinblick auf die Compliance-Branche immer mehr an Bedeutung. Auch die Auswirkungen von MiFID II sowie die seit dem 20. Juli 2018 in Liechtenstein anwendbare europäische Datenschutz-Grundverordnung sind in diesem Bereich von hoher Relevanz.

Rechtsanwalt Dr. Thomas Feldkircher von der NÄGELE Rechtsanwälte GmbH hielt im Zuge dieser Veranstaltung einen Vortrag zum Thema „Digital Compliance für Unternehmen – Rechtlicher Überblick über die Neuerungen der DSGVO. Welche Unternehmen sind davon betroffen, was ist zu beachten?“.

Compliance Day 2018 took place on May 15th, 2018 at the University of Liechtenstein in Vaduz. One set of this year’s lectures and subsequent panel dealt the area of Compliance Officers, concerning their position and liability. This also included discussions regarding the certification of compliance management systems.

An essential component of the lecture series included complex questions concerning digitalization. This included addressing new and relevant technologies such as data analysis and blockchain. In the legal realm, cyber risks, operational IT risks, and digital compliance companies are becoming more and more important with regards to compliance. This also includes the effects of MiFID II and the European Basic Data Protection regulation, applicable in Liechtenstein since July 20th, 2018, both of which are of great relevance in this area.

Participating in Compliance Day discussions, Attorney Dr. Thomas Feldkircher of Nägele Rechtsanwälte GmbH gave a lecture on “Digital Compliance for Companies – A Legal Overview of the Innovations of the DSGVO.” This particular lecture concerned questions regarding which companies are affected by the GDPR, and what factors need to be taken into consideration.
